Discover our environmental approach on this page
Le Coupet wouldn't be what it is without you: The guests who come to share a weekend, a seminar or a week of nature experiences!
If you feel like it, you can do your bit and help us respect our approach with a few small but no less important gestures.
It's also an opportunity to introduce you to sobriety (and not a lack of comfort), through ecogestures (saving water, energy...), alternatives to experiment with and impactful activities that we're keen to offer you with our local partners.
At Le Coupet, we're proud to have been awarded the Clef Verte 2024 label, rewarding our commitment to eco-responsibility. We invite you to become an Eco'actor for the duration of your stay and take action.
Here are 5 actions with a strong environmental impact:
- Use the train and carpool as much as possible to come and see us (we can reserve a shuttle for you to make the last few kilometers easier).
- Sort your waste properly and use the bio-bucket for your compostable waste (if you're not sure, take a look at the information sheet or ask us directly).
- Eliminate plastic and remember to take your water bottle (and reusable jars if you want to shop in bulk).
- Favour vegetarian menus during your stay (For our part, we do our utmost to offer you local, organic and seasonal products).
- Take part in our learning and immersive activities to understand current issues in a fun way (nature challenge, bio-inspiration workshop, climate fresco, etc.).
If you have any ideas, we'd love to hear your comments, suggestions and opinions, because we're committed to continuous improvement and want to offer you the best possible experience!
Equipment (4)
You are free to use the campfire area and take wood from the shelter next to it. However, please check in advance with a member of the team for the regulatory conditions in force for the period (prefectural decree during dry periods to avoid fire hazards).
Please park your vehicles exclusively in the parking lot at the entrance to the property (12 spaces - keep your vehicles tightly packed), upstream of the "Lune et Soleil" wooden gate.
- After 12, all vehicles must park in the village of Les Crozets, 1.4km upstream from accommodation. For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to park vehicles along the path between the village and accommodation (removal requested).
- The space in front of the house is strictly reserved for access and parking for emergency vehicles. However, our customers can park there for a few minutes on the day of arrival and departure, to drop off their luggage.
A parking space for disabled people is also available in front of the house.
A standard extension cord is available ON REQUEST. The cost per connection (8h) is 15 euros, payable in advance at the reception desk.
During your stay, you'll have exclusive access to our SPA terrace, equipped with a Nordic bath (hot), a panoramic sauna, a shower and a cold-water bucket with rocker. These facilities are accessible all year round, 24 hours a day (except for cleaning/maintenance cycles).
The following rules must be observed:
- Access is strictly reserved for residents of Le Coupet.
- Children under 16 are not allowed on the spa terrace if their parents are not present.
- A soapy shower is mandatory before using the sauna or Nordic bath.
- No GLASS containers, drinks or food are allowed in the SPA area. In the event of any breach of this rule, access to the spa and sauna will be denied for the remainder of the stay, and a minimum of 100 euros will be deducted from the deposit.
- Nordic bath in red cedar wood
- Maximum capacity = 6 people
- Between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m., the Nordic bath automatically activates an ozone cleaning cycle approximately every 3 hours (duration 30 minutes, last cycle before 8 p.m.). During this cycle, swimming is strictly forbidden (health hazard) and an audible alarm signals the washing cycle. Get out of the bath if the audible alarm goes off. Once the alarm has gone off, you can use the bath again.
- For safety reasons and to maintain bath temperature, the Nordic bath cover must always be replaced on the bath (wood side up, plastic side down) immediately after bathing.
- Panoramic sauna in red cedar wood
- Maximum capacity: 6 people
- Must be switched off after use (instructions will be given to you by the site manager during the entry visit).
- Do not pour water over the heating elements / hot stones
- Removing jewelry: Remove all jewelry before entering the sauna to avoid burns.
- Contraindications:
- Heart problems: People with heart problems or high blood pressure should consult their doctor before using a sauna. Heat can increase heart rate and blood pressure, which can be dangerous for people with these conditions.
- Pregnancy: Pregnant women should avoid the sauna, especially during the first three months of pregnancy. Exposure to heat may increase the risk of complications and birth defects.
- Acute illnesses: If you're suffering from an acute illness, such as an infection or inflammation, it's best to avoid the sauna. Heat can aggravate these conditions and delay healing.
- Dehydration: If you're dehydrated, it's important to rehydrate before entering a sauna. Heat and perspiration can aggravate dehydration, causing dizziness, headaches and nausea.
- Heat intolerance: Some people may be more sensitive to heat than others. If you suffer from heat intolerance, it's best to consult a physician before using a sauna.
- Consumption of alcohol or drugs: Avoid using the sauna if you have consumed alcohol or drugs, as this can increase the risk of dehydration and accidents.
- Always listen to your body and consult a health care professional if you have any concerns or questions about using your sauna... By following these steps and tips, you'll enjoy your outdoor sauna safely and take full advantage of its health benefits.
Rules for living at Le Coupet (3)
During your stay at Le Coupet, you'll meet our dog Forrest (a gentle, calm Australian shepherd) and our cat Elizabeth.
Following incidents and for hygiene and allergy reasons at accommodation, we do not accept pets at Le Coupet.
Strictly forbidden by prefectoral decree (forest zone within the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut Jura), all year round.
We love to organize parties and host festive events at Le Coupet.
However, in order to limit noise pollution (to us, the owners, who live on site, to the neighbors and to avoid disturbing the wildlife in the surrounding forest), the following rules must be followed:
- We don't accept "free-range" parties
- All parties must be declared and the details discussed at the time of booking.
- It is not possible to bring sound equipment - only the loudspeaker provided by Le Coupet may be used.
- Outdoors: the sound volume must not exceed 60 decibels (sound level meter possible) throughout the property.
- Indoors : a party can be held in the main living area (upper ground floor, on the accommodation entrance side), provided that the fire/soundproof doors are kept closed. In all cases, the volume in the main room must not exceed 85 decibels (this can be checked using a sound level meter).
Reservations (1)
We do not rent "by the room", the Coupet is a accommodation group available only in full privatization.
Safety (1)
Le Coupet is classified as a category 5 ERP.
Mariya and Christophe, your host-owners, and Mina, our multi-skilled employee, are all trained in fire safety and how to use emergency equipment. Please note that at least one member of our team will be present at all times during your stay.
We're also on hand to coordinate your activities and meals, chat with you, answer your questions, solve minor logistical problems, repair faulty equipment, etc. - in short, to provide you with all the little services you need to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
