Woodworking, watchmaking, eyewear, diamond-cutting, lapidary, toy-making and briar-pipe making all bear witness to a centuries-old tradition that is characteristic of our region, the Haut-Jura.

We highly recommend a visit to the Atelier des Savoir-Faire, an artists' and craftsmen's workshop (over 25), museum, training center and boutique entirely dedicated to Haut-Jura know-how.

We recommend that you visit the following fruitières (cooperatives producing Comté and Morbier cheeses):

  • La Fruitière 1900 (Thoiria, 25 minutes from Le Coupet): old-fashioned Comté cheese-making. Paco & Amandine welcome you at 9am on weekends to watch Comté cheese being made by hand: wood-fired cooking and cauldron, manual screw press. Store on site.   • La Fruitière de Grande Rivière Morbier (Grande-Rivière, 20 minutes from Le Coupet)
